How to Filter Rows in a Database

Updated over 7 months ago

Filtering allows you to show and hide content within a database based off of the filter conditions that you specify.

Filter Conditions

A filter condition is a rule that tells the database what to hide and what to display. You can filter using just one condition or multiple conditions.

How to Start Filtering

To start filtering in a database, do the following:

  1. At the top left of the database, click on the “Filter” button.

  2. Then click the “Add a filter condition” button and choose which field and properties you want to filter by.

Note: If a filter is being applied to the database, the filter button will be highlighted in blue.

How to Filter with Multiple Conditions

Once you've added your first filter condition, click the “Add filter condition” button again to add another one. You can remove filter conditions by clicking on the “trash can” icon at the far right of each filter condition.

Pro tip: When filtering using multiple conditions, you can use And and Or to alter the logic of the conditions following the first one.

How to Stop Filtering

To stop filtering, do the following:

  1. Click on the “Filter” button at the top left of the database.

  2. Then click on the “trash can” icon to the far right of each filter condition until there are no filter condition left.
