Create and reorder page content by drag and drop

Every piece of content on a page is a block. Blocks allow you to rearrange the content on a page by drag and drop.

Here's the breakdown of the blocks in the image above:

  1. Heading 1

  2. Normal text

  3. Block quote

  4. Heading 2

  5. Bullet list items

  6. Image

Block Types

These are the block types that you can create in Speare.

  1. Normal text

  2. Heading 1

  3. Heading 2

  4. Heading 3

  5. Block quote

  6. Page block link

  7. Bullet list item

  8. Numbered list item

  9. Checklist item

  10. Image

Creating Blocks

To create a block on a page, just start typing. To create another block, press the Enter / Return key.

How to Create Blocks Using the Command Menu

  1. Type / anywhere on a page.

  2. Choose the block type you want from the menu that appears.

Transforming Blocks From One Type to Another

There are two ways to do this:

Method 1 β€” Use the Command Menu

  1. Type / inside the block. This will open the command menu.

  2. Choose the type of block you want to transform the block into.

Method 2 β€” Use the Block Menu

  1. Hover over the left edge of the block

  2. Click on the 6-dot icon that appears next to the block

  3. Choose the block type you want to transform the block into.

Reordering Blocks by Drag-and-Drop

To move a block by drag-and-drop, do the following:

  1. Hover over the left edge of the block that you want to move.

  2. When the block handle icon appears, click on it and drag the block to the desired location.

Splitting Paragraph Blocks Into Separate Sentences

Blocks also allow you to split paragraph blocks into separate sentences, allowing you to edit the sentences individually and reorder them by drag and drop.

Nesting Blocks & Collapsing Nested Content

Another feature of blocks is that they can be nested inside one another. You can then collapse the content underneath to hide it.

Applying Background Colors to Blocks

You can also apply background colors to blocks to highlight them.
